Retro Cycle at Mooneyes Yokohama
Custome Thunder 250
1200cc Buell Cafe Racer
Indonesia sent two modifiers to fight in the arena of world-class custom competition, Mooneyes Hotrod 2011 in Yokohama, Japan. Donny Budianto, Best of the Best U Mild U Bikers National Modification Contest 2010 and Lulut Wahyudi, renowned builder of the Retro Classic Cycles.
"Mooneyes is one of the largest car and motorcycle festivals in the world. Who want to participate in this event is not registered but by invitation. So it's an honor," said Romulus Sutanto, Brand Manager U Mild at Planet Hollywood, Jakarta
Donny will rely on a concept of Neo Board Tracker motors, machine-based GSX 250 or better known in Indonesia Thunder 250 alerts in 2000. This motor was built nearly 80 percent own handmade. With the help of Razzle Dazzle, 73 Custom Couture managed to create a work that is designed with a blend of Boardtracker model with design and modern technology.
The advantage is on the harmonization of concepts, the use of single-arm on the front and rear as well as the cylinder block is reversed (the front carburetor and rear exhaust path). Additionally belt drive application that integrates with the system pengreman (disc brake) is also a charm.
While Lulut Wahyudi will rely on the motor that is named Buelton. Admittedly, cafe racer style bike is taking the concept of the Norton Manx. Almost the entire body using aluminum-based engine with 1200cc Buell.
Mooneyes is one of the festival of motorcycles and custom cars in the world. Last year 650 participants registered motorcycles custom, 220 custom car with 60 thousand visitors. "I do not have a chance at Mooneyes. I do not want to be burdened target. My mission to bring the world of custom Indonesia to a higher grade," said Lulut Wahyudi.
